Division Manager
Naotaka Hirami, Ph.D
I would like to introduce newly established Global Innovation Division. We often hear the word ‘innovation’; but, how should we understand the word? We also hear the word ‘invention’. Compared with this word, we understand the meaning of the word innovation a little further. Although both are to create ‘unprecedented value’, invention is created personally by researchers or inventors and general customers in the market are not a prerequisite and the impact on our society can be limited. On the other hand, innovation presumes profitable corporate activities, and can be considered to form a market with organizational efforts, giving an impact on our society. It is exactly one of the themes being undertaken by Center for Collaborative Research & Community Cooperation, and this new division of the center is taking a mission to advance the activity intensively with an international perspective. We will formulate an innovation eco-system in this area by continuously expanding an innovation impact to the world from the Hiroshima region.
